Now coming onto the problems that plague kindle devices.

Kindle not Turning on – Kindle Support

Ever picked up your kindle after weeks or months of no use. Try turning it on and you will notice it simply refuses to power up. This is sometimes more common with the Kindle E-readers like paperwhite and Oasis.

On connecting the charger, the charging indication LED on the device also sometimes does not light up. This notifies that the kindle is also not accepting charge from the charger. To resolve this issue follow the following steps.

  1. Press and hold the power button on the kindle for 30 seconds. This will most of the times force a restart on the device and rectify the problem. If not, please proceed to step 2.
  2. Connect the Kindle to a charger and let it sit for 20 minutes. Sometimes the battery is too low, and the device needs to build up a base charge for it to get going. Connecting the kindle to charger for about 20 minutes lets it build the base charge and then you can try holding on to the power button and it should fire right up.

Kindle Not Turning On

Connect the Kindle to a USB port on the computer. Sometimes if the kindle battery is too low on charge, it just might not start charging using a high output charger like the one that is shipped with the kindle itself. You can use the Data cable from the original charger and connect the other end to a USB port on a computer and let it sit for 30 minutes to build up some charge. As the computer generally gives a lower voltage output, it does not trigger the kindle to try to start up automatically. This lets the kindle get charged up without wasting any power. After 30 minutes, you can try to press and hold the power button for 30 seconds or till the screen lights up. Once the kindle fires up, please connect it to the regular charger and let it charge to 100%.

Kindle frozen – Kindle Support

If you encounter a kindle that is frozen on a particular screen there can be two reasons for it. In case of a Kindle Fire Frozen, the probable reason would be an unstable application or a glitch in the firmware. In case of a an e-reader like kindle Paperwhite frozen, the reason might be either a glitch in the firmware or a dead battery. As the Paperwhite and other readers use an E-ink screen, the contents displayed on the screen stay in place even if the device discharges completely. This sometimes makes us believe that the kindle is frozen when in fact it is just out of battery. The troubleshooting steps are different for both the families. First lets take a look at how to get a frozen Kindle Fire to work.
